An explanation of the Clr Slider.

The Airbus MCDU Aid does not run in hard real time and have the same time related performance as the actual aircraft MCDU. It is therefore possible to acquire a differing experience when pressing MCDU buttons from that of the aircraft.

The time performance of the Airbus MCDU aid is dependent  upon the PC or lap top it is running on as well as other programs running etc.

In order to require a similar experience as the aircraft the CLR Slider bar has been introduced. The user may move the slider to speed up or slow down the time required to hold the CLR button to remove the scratchpad entry. IN this way users, that are experienced with the actual aircraft MCDU will be able to achieve a similar experience when pressing the CLR button.

There are still some minor points to make.

1. Not all MCDU messages have migrated to a new Message class, so some messages can not be cleared by a single CLR press. Notably "FORMAT ERROR" or "OUT OF RANGE"

2. It is possible that sometimes the CLR button does not "depress" even though the mouse is over the button and the left mouse key is held down. In this case simply release the mouse key and try again.. Be sure to see the CLR button is in the "pressed in" state.
